On August 16th, 2008 Kacey attended and performed at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame induction
of the legendary, Mickey Newbury.  Mickey's children, Laura Shayne and Chris, also performed several of
Mickey's songs.  His widow, Susie, along with his mother, Mamie, accepted the award on behalf of the family.
It was a beautiful event and a proud night for all.  A DVD of the event will be available sometime early next year.

Kacey is currently winding up her summertime tour schedule with shows in Alabama, including performances
in Tuscaloosa, Livingston, and Jacksonville.  She'll be back in the Pensacola/Perdido Key area of Florida in October
and November (see "Calendar" page for details).  Between road trips, she's writing new songs and back in the studio
recording tracks for her new CD which will be released in 2009.  Stay tuned for details about this forthcoming project.

The new single, "What Will I Do", has been released to radio.
Here's what radio is already saying:

"I love Mickey Newbury and Kacey Jones is one of the few artists that could pull this off, which she does in fine style."

- Cole Younger / WBYZ-FM Baxley, GA

"This is by far the best material Kacey has recorded. She has done Mickey Newbury proud."
-Bruce Thalhuber / KLQL-FM Radio Luverne, MN

Dear Friends,
2006 was an exciting year for those who worked hard to bring Kacey Jones Sings Mickey Newbury to national attention.  The debut single, San Francisco Mabel Joy received national airplay at Country and Americana radio and Apples Dipped in Candy enjoyed airplay on Blues and Alternative stations.  "Amen for Old Friends" (track 14 on the album) was released to radio on 12/11/06 as 'a new song for New Year's Eve.'  We're happy to report that radio is spinning it now.

The press has been good to us too, including The San Francisco Chronicle, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com, to name a few (available on REVIEWS page of this site).

The music video for San Francisco Mabel Joy, directed by Stacy Dean Campbell and featuring Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Payne (Walk The Line) are in Heavy rotation on Music Choice and CMT's Pure Country, in Light rotation on GAC's Edge of Country, in Medium to Heavy rotation on approximately 85 regional broadcasters nationwide, and was also seen on 400 Frontier Airlines flights.

MICKEY NEWBURY RECEIVES THE PRESIDENTS AWARD FROM THE AMERICANA MUSIC ASSOCIATION:
On September 22, 2006 at the legendary Ryman Auditorium, the Americana Music Association awarded The President's Award to Mickey Newbury.  Mickey's mother, Mamie Newbury, was there to accept the honor on behalf of Mickey's family, and Kacey sang "Lie to Me Darlin' " live with the fine house band led by Buddy Miller.
